TREK TO BHRIGU LAKE  (May 2023)

Features – High Altitude Camping in Himalayan forests, Bhrigu Lake Trek, Maximum Altitude gain of 14000 ft., Jogini Waterfall, Vashishat Hot Springs, Hadimba Temple, Club House, Mall Raod Manali. Rock Climbing, Rappelling, River Crossing.

Overview – Situated at an altitude of 9000 ft, Silver Oak Campsite of the Himalayan Mountain Sojourns is a lonely place. It is a small open pasture amid the thick forest of pine, birch and rhododendron. To the one side of the place is the deep gorge of the holy water of Jogini Fall The bowl shaped surrounding vicinity of the place forms the encatchement area of the Jogini Fall. The uphill side goes up to form the Rohtang – Bhrigu Mountain range of the Pir Panjal Himalayas. On the top of the mountain is located the holy Bhrigu Lake at an altitude of 14000ft- half of the Mount Everest. The Lake is believed to be the meditation ground of Maharishi Bhrigu, the great sage in Hindu mythology who authored the Bhrigu Samhita—the base of Hindu astrology.

Day 01:- ArrivalArrival at Chandigarh airport / railway station. Transfer to Manali. Check in at the Apple Orchard Campsite at Palchan. Immediately after your check-in you will be briefed about the Campsite and its surrounding areas. Rest. Evening at leisure. Overnight in the Apple Orchard Camp.

Day 02:- Trek to Silver Oak CampAfter two days’ acclimatization stay at Apple Orchard Camp you leave today for the Silver Oak Camp. It takes 4 hrs to reach the Silver Oak Camp. On your arrival at camp you are welcomed with a hot lunch. In the evening you will be taken out for an acclimatization walk around the camp. Camp fire in the evening. Overnight in the Camp in alpine tents.

Day 03:- Trek to Snow Line CampAfter an early breakfast start trek for Snow line camp. ((We will cross Forest – Oak Trees – Meadows – Cross Tree line and Pitch camp between Tree Line and Snow line just below Panduropa … This will be the coldest night of the trek.. one of the amazing experiences ever))

Day 04:- Trek to Bhrigu Lake((After an early breakfast we embark our journey towards Bhrigu Summit)). The trek gives a panoramic view of Manali valley. All the famous peaks of Kullu Himalaya –   Indrasan, Deo Tibba, Hanuman Tibba, Makerbeh, Shikarbeh, Shitidhar, Friendship Peak, Khand Pari and Ladakhi put on show themselves around you. An excellent trek for photography. After reaching at Bhrigu spending some time there you descend down to the Silver Oak Camp. Overnight in the Camp in alpine tents.

Day 05:- Trek to Apple Orchard Camp & Adventure activitiesToday you trek back to the Apple Orchard Camp from the Silver Oak Camp. You will be at Apple Orchard Camp by lunch time. After lunch you will be taken to the rock field at river side for Adventure Activities – Rock Climbing, Rappelling and River Crossing. First, the Adventure Instructor will explain and demonstrate the techniques and then the participants will practice that in the presence of the instructor. Late in the evening you will be back in the Campsite. Overnight in the Apple Orchard Camp.

Day 6:- Departure from ManaliBreakfast. Leave for Chandigarh. Take flight / train back home with wonderful memories.
